About the prank boxes

How does it actually work?
Slide open the lid and a lifelike rubber spider springs out. That's it. No batteries, no setup, no instructions needed — which is exactly why it works on everyone.

Does it need batteries?
No. It's a spring, a wooden box, and human nature.

Is it safe?
Yes. The spider is soft rubber and nothing in the box can pinch, snap shut, or hurt anyone. It's suitable for ages 6 and up with a bit of grown-up guidance — and worth thinking twice before using on someone with a genuine phobia or a heart condition. Prank responsibly.

Can I use it more than once?
Yes. Reset it in about two seconds and pass it along. Most of our customers report the box making its way through an entire office or family.

Can I really put a gift inside?
That's our favorite way to use it. The Original Spider Prank Box has a hidden compartment sized for cash, a gift card, jewelry, or a small trinket. They jump first, then they find the real gift. Double surprise.

Can I decorate it?
Please do. It's plain sanded wood, so markers work great, and plenty of customers color them, name them, or personalize them before giving them away. We know of one group that threw an entire decorate-your-spider-prank party with a stack of boxes and a pile of markers. If you're doing that for a classroom, birthday, or team event, email us about quantity pricing.

What's the difference between the Original and the Mini?
The Original Spider Prank Box is our full-size, hand-crafted classic — the one with over 9,000 reviews. The Mini is a smaller, lower-priced version that slips easily into a lunch box, a glove compartment, a purse, or a stocking. Same mechanism, same laugh, smaller footprint.

Is it made of real wood?
Yes — handmade wooden construction, smooth-sanded. Our products are designed and tested in the USA.

Custom engraving

Can you engrave these?
Yes. We run our own laser engraver and can add a name, logo, date, message, or inside joke to the wood.

What does it cost?
Custom engraving starts at $50. Final pricing depends on quantity and how complex the artwork is. Email info@funfamz.com with what you're after and we'll give you a straight answer quickly.

What do people use engraved boxes for?
Branded swag that doesn't get thrown away, mostly. We've done a run for a pest control company as a giveaway and it landed hard — the theme writes itself. It also works for weddings and groomsmen gifts, teacher and retirement gifts, anniversary boxes with the date on the lid, escape rooms, haunted attractions, and trade show giveaways.

Orders & shipping

How long will my order take?
FunFamz.com orders ship from Amazon fulfillment centers via Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF). Most orders are picked within 1–2 business days (weekends and Amazon holidays excluded), then arrive in about 3–5 business days for most US addresses. We do not promise Amazon Prime delivery speeds on funfamz.com. Tracking goes out by email when the label is created. If your order looks late, email info@funfamz.com with your order number and we'll track it down.

What does shipping cost?
Orders under $35: flat $4.99 standard shipping.
Orders $35 and up: free standard shipping.
Add an Original + Mini (or another item) to clear $35. Full details are on our shipping policy.

Can I get it faster?
Need it by a hard date? Email info@funfamz.com before you check out and we'll tell you what's realistic for your address. Expedited shipping may be offered at checkout when available.

Can I send it directly as a gift?
Absolutely, and it's a great one to ship straight to the recipient. Just enter their address at checkout, and mention in your order notes if you'd like us to leave out anything that spoils the surprise.

We currently ship within the United States. Rates show at checkout. See our shipping policy for full details. International requests: email info@funfamz.com.

Returns & problems

What's your return policy?
You have 30 days from receiving your item to request a return. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging with proof of purchase. Email info@funfamz.com to start one and we'll send you a return shipping label with instructions. Please don't ship anything back before requesting a return — we can't accept those.

My box arrived damaged or wrong.
Tell us right away at info@funfamz.com and we'll make it right. Inspect your order when it lands so we can sort out any problem quickly.

How long do refunds take?
Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll let you know if it's approved and refund your original payment method within 10 business days. Banks can take a little longer to post it. If more than 15 business days have gone by since approval, email us.

Can I exchange instead?
The fastest route is to return the item you have and place a new order separately.

I'm in the EU.
You have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days for any reason, no justification required, in addition to everything above.
